In the ‘40s through the ‘60s, nothing stirred more the imagination of young and fertile minds than Superman or Buck Rogers.  While Superman obtained his super-powers from another planet, Buck was the first rocketpack-wearing earthling to be a flying superhero!  Debuting in the August 1928 issue of the pulp magazine Amazing Stories, Buck turned his readers into rocket rangers, which later took to the air and into outer space adventure.

Saturdays at the Bijou movie theater, boys of all ages would watch Buck and Wilma elude Killer Kane, while Commando Cody fended off aliens from Mars.  Twisting the dial of his rocket-suit control, Cody would skyrocket into flight to become King of the Rocketmen.  Free flight with the aid of a pack as seen in the comics, movies and television has always been a dream.
